Dr Amanda Odoi holds a PhD in Development Studies with a major in masculinities from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Her research interests are masculinities, sexualities, and Gender-Based Violence. Through these works, she explores and highlights the implications of social constructions, internalisation and symbolism of these constructs and their performance for (development) interventions. Amanda is a Queen Elizabeth Visiting Scholar fellow with the Department of Geography and Environment, University of Western Ontario, researching climate change and masculinities. Her research highlights the need to pay attention to (non-hegemonic) masculinities performances and related issues for gender equality and transformative climate change governance. At WeCLISH Centre, Amanda hopes to connect with other climate change and gender researchers to build partnerships and enhance her research.
